"The conversion of the Philadelphia Naval Base to the Philadelphia Naval Business Center had many areas of difficulty requiring my close attention. The development of an image to promote the center was a foremost concern and unifying the numerous types of buildings on the site with the use of signage would be a challenge. Designer Sign Systems created a family of signs that complimented all of the various types of architecture, from historic naval buildings and Victorian homes to more modern office buildings.
The most crucial part of the program was the creation of a Wayfinding Signage System to service this very large site where public access had always been limited and controlled. Designer Sign Systems designed an attractive component based system that could be easily maintained and remain consistent as the various phases of the project were implemented.
Working with Designer Sign Systems took major issues that I was concerned about and made it one of the more pleasurable experiences of this multi-faceted project." |
